Teaching has become one of the most rewarding parts of my academic life. I view it as a critical responsibility that challenges me to uphold high standards while meeting students where they are. My goal is for students not only to succeed in my classes but also to leave with tools they can use to interpret the world around them. In macroeconomics, this often means helping them connect what they see in the news to the models and reasoning we develop in class. I try to incorporate as much active learning and engagement as is appropriate and am always working to make the concepts more relevant to the ever changing world. I enjoy mentoring students in any capacity they need and am always thrilled at their successes. I am committed to evolving my courses and methods to ensure high learning outcomes that will take students far in economics and beyond.Â

"[He] is very nice, and he seems to enjoy teaching. When I've gone to his office hours, he's helped me understand the content a lot more, which I believe has allowed me to do well in the class."
"He is extremely intelligent, always available to help his students, and is genuinely a nice guy. I liked taking his class and I felt like I truly grasped the material very well."
"Overall I greatly appreciated Professor Duncan's efforts to assist me in this class. I am not the best when it comes to economics or economics related courses and Professor Duncan was extremely approachable and understanding for my lack of knowledge on the topic and I am very appreciative of his assistance throughout this course."
